TIM: Things I've Made {admit one}

I got together with gal pal Blaynie one night and we made these darling ticket displays.
I thought I was the only one that kept EVERY.single.ONE of my ticket stubs from seemingly
insignificant places (mostly movies), but she does too! YAY for not being alone in weirdness! :)

It's SO easy to make:

You'll need:
A hollow display frame (we got ours at Hobby Lobby)
Decorative paper, ribbons, washi tape, etc
Paint
Tickets

Paint frame. While paint is drying, decorate the back panel. I liked the shiny gold and copper paper and I thought it gave texture to use the burlap. Toss tickets inside and close it up.

That's it. So easy right!?

You can totally to it!

Sister Date

A dear family friend that my two sisters and I have worked for for years {me during high school and sporadically when i was home for summers; the kessa when I left for school and sporadically over holidays; and now sadie while she is in high school}, gave us the sweetest Christmas gift:

A gift card for the movies and a yummy dinner at Red Robin to be used out on a sister date. :)

We went to see Thor: The Dark World cause that movie is amazing!

YuM! Then dinner and DESSERT at Red Robin.

It was such a GREAT time together that we really needed. Love you sisters!

Thursday Theatre Review: Chris's People Like Us

Have I told you how much I love Chris Pine?

In my humble (and correct) opinion, he is one of the best actors in Hollywood. He can play ANYTHING.
From the cocky and clever Kirk in Star Trek, to the half crazy brother in Carriers, to the unlucky in-love Jake Hardin in Just My Luck. Not to mention the new-train-employee-made-hero in Unstoppable, the fighting-with-his-best-friend for a girl in This Means War, and of course, the sexy Nicholas in Princess Diaries 2.

His most recent movie, People Like Us, is no different. He plays brilliant salesman (read: lies for money), Sam, who finds out (after going through his dead-beat dad's estate) that he has a long-lost sister and nephew. The movie is a heart-wrenching tale based on a true story. He learns that love trumps all and that there are many different kinds of love. He learns that everyone is just trying to do their best in life and that we are all here to help each other on our journey.

Chris does fantastic and rips your heart out with his real-life struggles he goes through. I usually go to movies and read books to GET OUT of reality, but this was played so beautifully and had such a great message that my heart was warmed and I left feeling content and happy with my life.

Plus, how could you NOT be happy when you get to look at this face for 2 hours. ;)

Movie Monday: Proof

The other night kess, sade, and I decided to go see a movie together. We went to the Orem theater because it's so much fun! (proof: popcorn, soda, licorice. . .PLUS ice cream, huge cookies, slushies!yum)

We saw Snow White and the Huntsman. I wasn't sure how it was going to be--but it was seriously the BEST movie I've ever seen! and I love pretty much any movie I see--so that's saying a lot! It was amazing! (proof: chris hemsworth, twisted fairy tale, amazing graphics, charlize theron,  the COLORS, the sets, sam claflin, the fashion, even kristen stewart. . .on and on amazing.)

Then we went to Wal-mart and HAD to get these BFFanklets. supa cute. I love these gals!
Kay, I was looking at this picture:. . . .are we really sisters? I am WHITE--holy cow. embarrassing!

Then I looked at this picture:. . . .proof: we are definitely sisters. weird toes and all.

The Way to My Heart. . .

. . .is the Theatre. There's just something about getting dressed up and going to the movies. I love this song from the movie Annie. It makes my smile and I can't stop. It sums up my feelings exactly!:

Let's go to the movies!

If you've ever gone to the movies with me, you know I HAVE to get there early to watch the previews. Even if it's at the dollar movie and all the previews are movies that are out already.  I love the way they put the scenes together that makes your heart pound with excitement--SO fun!

And then the movie starts, the theater speakers pound, the larger-than-life stars appear on the screen, and that's it: you've won over my heart. It just makes me happy.

I love going to the original theatre too. Plays, Broadway, Musicals. . .ah! It all equals happiness in my mind.

Now, I'm going to rush over & look at the movie times for tonight!!
