Thursday Theatre Review: Chris's People Like Us

Have I told you how much I love Chris Pine?

In my humble (and correct) opinion, he is one of the best actors in Hollywood. He can play ANYTHING.
From the cocky and clever Kirk in Star Trek, to the half crazy brother in Carriers, to the unlucky in-love Jake Hardin in Just My Luck. Not to mention the new-train-employee-made-hero in Unstoppable, the fighting-with-his-best-friend for a girl in This Means War, and of course, the sexy Nicholas in Princess Diaries 2.

His most recent movie, People Like Us, is no different. He plays brilliant salesman (read: lies for money), Sam, who finds out (after going through his dead-beat dad's estate) that he has a long-lost sister and nephew. The movie is a heart-wrenching tale based on a true story. He learns that love trumps all and that there are many different kinds of love. He learns that everyone is just trying to do their best in life and that we are all here to help each other on our journey.

Chris does fantastic and rips your heart out with his real-life struggles he goes through. I usually go to movies and read books to GET OUT of reality, but this was played so beautifully and had such a great message that my heart was warmed and I left feeling content and happy with my life.

Plus, how could you NOT be happy when you get to look at this face for 2 hours. ;)
