Assumptions.

Assumptions are funny things. Sometimes what you assume ends up being exactly right--but most of the time, you should just keep your assumptions to yourself.

Exhibit A: Assuming I'm a 14 year old girl just because I love Justin Bieber. Now that's just SILLY! :)

Exhibit B: My sophomore year of college was almost over and my roommates and I were laughing one night about memories when it came out that some of my roommates saw that my name was Keisha before they met me and assumed they were rooming with a black girl. And then they were disappointed because I was white as a cracker could be. hmmm.

Exhibit C: The other day I got this envelope in the mail.

Free Gifts Enclosed it said. Well I love Free Gifts. And it's from the Smithsonian! So I opened it. I didn't look at the full return address, but I should have.

My free gifts enclosed were bookmarks; of deceased African Americans.

Mom figured out why they sent it to me and only me in our house. . . . .I mean, this is what google images pops up for "Keisha":

OH, good. The enclosed bookmarks are mine to keep! great!. . . . . . I'll frame them.

Now I'm not saying you have to be black to enjoy black culture, I'm just saying. . .don't assume I'm black because I have a black girl name.
mmmmmK?

Who are you? No. Clue.

Who am I? Well, first of all, this would be a better representation of me:
